Homeworld Remastered Collection is a set containing the refreshed versions of games Homeworld andHomeworld 2 , the two iconic space RTS by studio Relic Entertainment. Remakes developed by a team of Gearbox Software.

The first game is a story about the fate of the people known as the Kushan, who for thousands of years to develop their own civilization on the desert planet of Kharak. The history of this community consisted mainly of a series of wars with few natural resources. Everything changed with finding the wreck of the great ship. It had the technology to interstellar travel and a map leading to the planet referred to as Hiigara, which in the language of the Kushan meant „home.” This discovery has united residents Kharak and over the next century the whole of society has focused on the construction of his own ship, based on the solutions found in the wreckage. During the first flight, however, there has been a tragedy. The ship made a hyperspace jump successfully, but the location of the target discovered only a few fighters hostile alien civilization. After their defeat and return to orbit Kharak discovered that these units were only part of the great armada that had killed all the inhabitants of the planet . Thus, 600,000 Kushan, dormant hibernation chambers of the ship, it was the last survivors of the massacre. There was no sense to go back to the destroyed planet, so it was decided to start the journey to Hiigary.

The story told in the Homeworld 2 begins 115 years after the events of the first part. The past century was a period of peace and prosperity for the breed Kushan and its new home, the planet Hiigara. The end of this golden age has come with an increase in power of the warrior race Vaygr, which launched a massive invasion of the Kushan civilization. After a series of battles, it became clear that the people of Hiigary are at a disadvantage, so they made the decision to build a powerful Mother Ship, which was turn the tide in their favor.
